Would banning internet pornography and adult websites be feasible?

I'm curious if it would. Given that porn consumption and production is a hotbed of ethical issues, I'm sure there will be some arguments in favor of it.

Some countries such as Iceland have passed bans on internet pornography, though critics say that these bans create black markets.

While I'm aware that porn has always been around, and that black markets will exist for potentially anything which is banned, I personally have little interest in pornography, and it wouldn't hurt me if some incel didn't have access to Pornhub and OnlyFans 24/7.

I honestly find most porn distasteful - even gross. And I don't consider myself a prude. I mean, we all have fantasies and so forth, but to me, that's the reason I find porn distasteful: it leaves nothing to the imagination. And then there's the fact that porn is often exploitative and communicates themes of objectification.

But my objections aside, I'm basically a social and civil libertarian. As long as the people involved - the viewer, the producers, actors, etc. - are at an age where the can legally consent and as long as there's no human/sex trafficking involved, what people do within their four bedroom walls should be their own business from a legal standpoint.

Uhmm.. STFU ******. We are not the same. :nono:
Porn is a freaking distortion of what God intended for sex to be.

The porn industry is about 2x larger than the legitimate movie industry. Plus the studios pay taxes and fees to shoot.

San Fernando would go broke if porn were outlawed.

Nope, not necessarily.

Even if "God intended sex" to be done in a certain way (and there's nothing in the Bible describing how sex should be done, other than the depiction of sex in Song of Solomon), porn contains a myriad of different portrayals of sex, so some of those portrayals may indeed be the way that "God intended it."

Truth hurts I guess.

If we use the Bible as a source, then we can presume that Adam and Eve represent sex in the way that God intended it. They weren't ashamed of their nakedness, and didn't need any of the marital formalities which were invented by civilization. That all changed after the Fall of Man, and practices such as polygamy, the taking of concubines, and the oppression of women became a norm in the Old Testament.

The Bible does not specify Mary's exact age when she gave birth to Jesus, but many scholars believe she was likely between 12 and 16 years old based on cultural practices of the time.
