If at that point the reader doesn't go back and try to decipher the figurative expressions that the character Jesus used in the story you will never understand the revelations about the hidden teachings in your book of the law or the figurative language of the prophets.

Unless you eat his flesh you can have no life in you. If you don't even know what he meant, how could you or anyone possibly do it?
