Okay first of all as a born again Christian myself I think that she's a little nutty. That's just me personally though. However, I don't agree with the school for making her child do worksheets that goes against her mother's wishes due to her own religious beliefs and I think that she was right for pulling her daughter from the school.

Did the teacher insist or did the kid ask?

Christ. Don’t you have something better to worry about?

Isn't it right to defend a woman who wants to raise her daughter the way she wants to and not the way that the school wants her to? Wait, look who I'm talking to, never mind. 🙄
Expecting everyone to cater to your weird demands is just too much.

What if she had a religious belief that required her to avoid the number 6?

So what? You sound ridiculous as you're just making things up now, but so what if she did?

I have been close to education for about 50 years and there aren't many parents that are opposed to these types of activities. However, there are some religions that have strict rules concerning these issues. The teachers and schools that I am aware of bent over backward to meet the parent's desires in spite of the fact that it meant planning separate lessons to accommodate these students without denying the other students. If a teacher did not meet the desires of the parent, that teacher should be disciplined. These are issues that are extremely important to these folks and their desires AS PARENTS should be adhered to. The teachers go through a lot of soul searching and extra work to understand but the majority do as the parent instructs them to do. Often these 'opt out' students only comprise one or two students in the school.

You're not born again. Protestants love that not understanding what it means

You're not "born again" until you're dead and resurrected. You haven't been resurrected from the dead.

And yeah, the mother is absolutely right. Schools have no right pushing religion

The school didn't push religion. The teacher planner her lesson around a Halloween with all of the fiction that is attached. The family's religion did not allow that. The teacher was wrong and she will be chastised for her actions.

Well we'll agree to disagree here but yeah even though I personally love Halloween I also respect people who choose not to celebrate it. That teacher was out of line.
