Woman's Boston Marathon Bombing Costume: What It Says About Everyone

It was the Halloween costume seen ‘round the world: A Michigan woman named Alicia Ann Lynch dressed as a victim of April's Boston Marathon bombing, sporting runner’s clothing and fake splattered blood. And as a result, she ignited the rage of the Internet.

On Oct. 31, 22-year-old Lynch posted a photo of herself wearing the costume on Instagram and Twitter, using the handle @SomeSKANKinMI. Shortly after, users descended on Lynch, tweeting their disgust. Responses included:

Ok here's where I have to respectfully disagree with you. For some of us it's not intellectial memorials by the MSM, it's the true horror of that day and aftermath that is still being felt. It's the 10 hours waiting for someone making the trip from Manhatten to Brooklyn not knowing if another attack was going to take that person out or if it was over. It's the sound of people weeping because they can't find a loved one. Somebody in my church had a nephew in one of the towers. They never found his body because he was vaporized. It was the dust a week later that still covered everything. The pictures of the faces of lost loved ones and the flowers underneath them because they'd realized they weren't coming home. It was the smell of the firefighters going from CT to NYC to help. None of that was any MSM BS, that was reality,my reality. A member of my family was there and saw the whole thing,she still has the mental scars. To make a halloween costume poking fun isn't amusing, it's disrespectful to the memory of those who died and those who have been living with the memories.

Everyone is offended by everything in this country today. I'm from Boston, and this doesn't bother me at all. People sending this woman death threats, and harrassing her family are more despicable in my eyes than her dressing up as a marathon bombing victim. Why didn't anyone care about people dressing up as Trayvon Martin?
