We need to pass a strong law against the Congress members owning stocks, which hopefully will stop being blocked by Republicans.

This should also include the president and vice president
59% of the members of Congress who own stocks are Republicans. Just 41% are Democrats.

Given that Republicans control both chambers, it is no wonder nothing real is advancing on this issue.

Libs really don't believe that new laws, taxes and regulations will affect the economic decisions. They think that money will just be raised, and that businesses and individuals will continue to live in New York City, smoke cigarettes or create wealth as they always have, regardless of how much those activities are punished by the government.

Conservatives, OTOH, know differently, and the politicians among them know that their acts have both intended and unintended consequences- and thus affect the price of securities on the market.
