MADISON - Women in Wisconsin will continue to have access to abortion services under a new ruling from the state's highest court that invalidates a 176-year-old state law that had banned abortions in nearly every situation.

Looks like Elon money only goes so far.

Because abortion is based on religion, sacrifice by the woman, and medicine, it does not belong with the feds or states, but instead should be up to each individual.

They basically ruled that the laws passed in the last 50 years made the old law moot.
Abortion is now legal in Wisconsin at any time, for any reason.

It is also now a sanctuary state for women in surrounding states. Now along with Illinois, women in midwest states have more options.

You are sad. Why do you so love killing humans in the womb?

Will you please stand still. We aren't after killing most people. You keep affecting my sight in.

Wisconsin is projected to experience a significant population decline, with estimates suggesting a decrease of nearly 200,000 residents by 2050, primarily due to declining birth rates and an aging population.

Population Projections

Contributing Factors

  1. Declining Birth Rates: Wisconsin has seen a consistent drop in birth rates, contributing to the overall population decline. Fewer births mean a smaller younger population to replace the aging demographic.

    2
  2. Aging Population: The baby boomer generation is entering higher mortality age groups, which is expected to lead to a natural decrease in population as deaths outpace births.

    2
  3. Migration Trends: Wisconsin is not experiencing significant in-migration to offset the declining birth rates. Many areas, particularly urban centers like Milwaukee, have seen population losses, while only a few counties are projected to grow.

Conclusion

The population decline in Wisconsin poses challenges for the state's future, including potential impacts on the economy, workforce, and social services. Addressing these trends may require policy interventions to encourage higher birth rates and attract new residents to the state.

Could the loss of JOBS be a factor? At some point, the United States are going to have to invest in job creation. If a young person cannot find a job then they don't have a choice but to relocate to an area with jobs. You can call this Socialism if you wish but the cause was the total lack of sense Capitalism that allowed those job losses in the first place. Now we have to fix the problem or get ready to become a third world nation.

Gee, Skews...didn't you on the left claim that sending the abortion issue back to the States would mean the end of abortions? (eye roll)

‘Gov. Tony Evers, who authorized the lawsuit brought by Attorney General Josh Kaul, said when the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, the court "upended five decades of precedent and threw reproductive freedom in Wisconsin — and across our country — into chaos."’ ibid

Overturning Roe was never about ‘letting the states decide’ – for authoritarian conservatives it’s about a nationwide ban, it’s about more government at the expense of individual liberty, contrary to the will of the people of the states who recognize the right to privacy and reproductive autonomy.

How does letting States decide the abortion issue lead to a "nationwide ban", Clayton? Obviously that's not the case, as Wisconsin has shown, yet you're still here peddling that same false narrative!

Can anyone tell me a Muslim country in population decline?

The whole point to make it a state matter.
The state is responsible not the federal government. Federal government never should have been involved in it.
