can we really manage?
Wir haben es geschafft. 2015 ist erledigt.

We have done it. 2015 is done.
In 2015, 2 million people came to Germany - 1 million from Europe and 1 million from outside Europe. We did do the best what we had been able to do in this situation.
Comparable in the USA would be a situation where 8 million people came to the USA in a year - 4 millions from within America and 4 millions from outside of the USA. The main difference: Germany is only about 3% of the size of the USA.
In 2011, for example, the USA had 500,000 new immigrants and one million naturalizations. Germany had in 2011 800,000 refugees and about 50,000 asylum applications. More exact: In 2011 841.695 foreigners and 116.604 Germans came to Germany and 538.837 foreigners and 140.132 Germans left Germany. Number of unreported cases unknown. Germany does not have its own borders. We are a part of the EU and as far as I know the EU not controls the borders of the EU at all. That is why we are currently forced to turn back illegal immigrants to Germany at the German borders ourselves.
