It's a charge and not a conviction. I know most people don't know or care about the difference, but he's not guilty yet.

Police and soldiers have a higher domestic violence rate because it's a stressful and chaotic job. It still needs to be done though. We can never condone domestic violence, but maybe when we talk about those stats we can show a little bit of consideration for the nature of the work these people are doing and the impact it has on their psyches.

It is people in power fiefdoms who screw over others that is a problem. And those within who screw over others within. This issue here is a catalyst for the ongoing political agendas that many people remember.
