1. A disputed area occupied by one local force and opposed by another local force;
2. Turns into a proxy war between US and other countries;
3. US support turns into boots on the ground;
4. US assures of victory;
5. Casualties mount;
6. Public opinion changes;
7. Humiliating withdrawal;
8. Domestic chaos;
9. Rinse and repeat.

Gaza doesn’t have either millions of square miles of trackless jungle, or millions of innocent civilians to be terrorized into hiding guerrilla fighters. Gaza is a small desert area with a limited population. If Israel ever gets tired of placating the UN, it will go through Gaza like crap through a goose. The West Bank and especially Gaza only exist because Israel hasn’t accepted that the UN is irredeemably anti-Israel and still attempts to placate it. No other country would tolerate the endless terrorism and conventional attacks that Israel has since 1948.

If the Quebecois were launching thousands of rockets into the U.S. like Hamas has been to Israel, the U.S. would have invaded long ago and absorbed Quebec into the USA,
