PBS so far appears only willing to complain about it:

But their approach is a feigned concern for people in lightly populated areas. They talk about how important they are for people to keep informed.

No mention of contemplating making changes

NPR takes a similar approach but in an even more outlandish way:

In a statement immediately after the vote, NPR CEO Katherine Maher said: "Nearly 3-in-4 Americans say they rely on their public radio stations for alerts and news for their public safety," adding, "We call on the House of Representatives to reject this elimination of public media funding, which directly harms their communities and constituents, and could very well place lives at risk."

"Lives at risk?" Again with that?

"3-in-4 Americans?" Anyone on here seriously believe that? I doubt that 3-in-100 Americans could tell you where NPR is on their local radio dial.

No word from either of why they lost their funding and what they could do differently.

Probably for the best. Any changes would be insincere, and very, very temporary.

I don't know if they even can change. They may be so deluded that they are middle of the road that they may not understand how they come off to normal people.

Lets see..

2020 election was stolen
Jan 6 was just a bunch of tourists
Climate change is a myth
Migrants are eating cats and dogs
COVID was just a bad cold
Tariffs are paid by other countries

Your funding will be returned

I see that PBS has already made changes.
  • New programming like NOVA is way down. They are now running reruns in prime time.
  • Every time I pass the PBS channels, they are on a funding drive. Even their main channel which in the past was never used for funding drives.
I called them up during one such funding drive and told them I'd donate generously as soon as they put Ted Nugent on their channel. They hung up on me.

They won’t be able to afford Miss Scarlett ( formerly “ Miss Scarlett & The Duke “ 😢

The TDS is strong in this one.

Nobody I know of who want to cut the funding wants to return it.

My question is about what PBS and NPR will do.

I think they will ultimately announce changes, offer some grudging conditional mea culpas ("we regret if anyone interpretted what we said as . . . ") in hopes of getting some temporary funding.

But they will be very vague, and not ever really admit they did wrong in the first place.

Their real hope will be that Dems return to power, but that will be more difficult without PBS and NPR to rally the youth vote to the polls.

Trump, as usual, is trying to bully to get the news reporting he desires.

Both NPR and PBS are some of the most respected news agencies in the world

Meh, I've already forgotten about them.

I doubt if they are even in the pecking order of things most rural Americans worry about.

Maybe some liberal transplant to the country. You know them, the silver hairs that are at every public meeting bitching about something nobody cares about.

Yes, most respected by liberal socialists worldwide for their consistent hawking of liberal socialist propaganda.

Which is there right to do, but not their right to have me pay for them to do it.

They sure haven’t changed yet. I listened Thursday, and every single feature story ripped Trump

Yep. No change at all.

It's amazing that they think somehow whatever pantheistic god lib-dems worship will save them, so they can just keep doing what they've always been doing.

15th post
Every state uni with PBS stations are being subsidized by MAGA citizens.

(How filthy: maga and citizen together).

Right wing lies

NPR yesterday, one of the main talkers paused bashing Trump long enough to say WTTE of "in the next hour, we discuss how journalists can do our jobs, while at the same time bringing back people who have lost trust in us."

Right. How can we convince the rubes again that we're not just a bunch of partisan hacks?

Then he went straight into yet another story about Trump firing the BLS head.
