Nope! Not mine.

I submitted my return using a commercial tax return program. I try to plan my taxes where I only get a small refund, this year just enough for a weekend away for the wife and me.

After submitting I waited for a few days, I heard nothing back. That was unusual because normally I submit and almost always quickly get a notice that it was rejected for this reason or that. after a couple of more tries, it go through.

I told my wife that we might just have to put up with a delay as our little sacrifice for all the benefits These cuts are bringing to the country. Finally, I logged back onto the commercial preparation service only to find a claim I had already gotten my refund.

I looked in my savings account, there it was! I submitted on 16 February and the refund wasn’t my account on the 22nd of February.

I guess I was lucky enough not not to have the probationary employees working on my tax return. Likely they were too busy digging up dirt on Republicans, as they were hired for at the last minute.

Anyone else experiencing delays or successes?

You get a refund? I haven't had a refund in years. Admittedly, not paying in like I was, before retirement.

I wasn't expecting one what with the sale of my mom's house/assets but it looks like I will get a modest return....Good enough, I don't like the feds to use my money for free.

Yes, I like to plan it so that I get a small refund. Keep me from having flashbacks to when we were want income three kids, and I was working my way to college. We look forward to the refund as a little windfall and the one year we had to pay Was very disheartening.

Congrats, dude.
That is exactly why I have historically gotten small IRS refunds, if any, more often paying in at filing time, especially in years since all kids were out of school. Like you, I always figured I could manage money more effectively throughout any given year, than letting it accumulate interest free for a year with the IRS, to have a significant refund.

I get a yuge tax refund by using the Don's grifting tax avoision fraud scheme.

Yeah, the best case is you owing the IRS a small amount then dick around and send it in at the late minute. ;)

Absolutely true. I didn't do the last minute or last day thing, until the Covid year. I always did mine in Jan or Feb, while my brother-in-law did his the last week. I did mine as usual in Jan before going skiing in the Covid year. But, right before April 15, trump admin made change benefitting tax payers during the epidemic, saving brother-in-law significantly, while I did not recoup until the following year, as not feeling like submitting an amended return that year, a purely lazy thing on my part. But, it did teach me the lesson "if not expecting much back), don't file early, simply file on-time. Now, I wait.
