The left's hatred for Elon Musk didn't start until he bought Twitter and fucked up their little liberal social media paradise. That's how fast they can turn on you. Donald Trump was also idolized among the left, that was until he became a Republican and ran for President in 2016.

My wife went through the same thing. She was involved in the very liberal community theater and voted for Obama in 2008. She stopped participating in theatrical productions after she became a Republican and voted for Trump in 2016. Now her old liberal friends have become total assholes.
