For many Democrats, Trump’s continued viability as a presidential candidate speaks to something more fundamental and concerning: How can someone as odious and malignant as Trump maintain so much popular support?

It’s not just that Trump’s four years in office were defined by unimaginable incompetence, venality, chaos and cruelty. It’s not just that he is a convicted felon who spurred an insurrection and still refuses to accept the results of the 2020 election. It’s not just that many Democrats can’t comprehend why anyone would want to return to those days. The larger and more disquieting issue is the campaign Trump is running right now: one that is as vile and as openly racist as any campaign in perhaps all of American history — and that includes his previous runs for the White House.”

2016 and 2020 were just as unsettling.

Should Trump be defeated, it won’t bring an end to the Trump Cult.

Trump is a product of the GOP – a reactionary Republican party consumed by fear, ignorance, stupidity, racism, bigotry, misogyny, and hate; a party of white grievance politics and racist replacement theory, a nativist party hostile to immigrants and immigration, a party obsessed with compelling conformity and silencing dissent.

A Republican party that has embraced fascism, with Trump the fascist thug as its leader.

Democrats need to look in the mirror.

They are unsettled because there's a small chance they won't be able to steal it.

Very unsettling to know how many Americans are ready to close shop. They have given up on democracy. Some I suppose really long for an authoritarian type of government but most just say fuck it.
Trump is not only the product of the GOP. He is a product of neoliberalism and the misery and hopelessness that comes with it. Fascism is neoliberalism plus murder. And we are right at the edge.

What a load of CRAP. The Democrats have taken a wrecking ball to the Constitution, the DOJ, the FBI, our border and our Media. Clayton is another shill for The Democrat Fascist Regime. The only chance this country has is getting the Democrats out of power.

I am not afraid.
I am not ignorant.
I am not stupid.
I am not a racist.
I am not a bigot.
I am not a misogynist.
I don't care about race, most especially mine.
I have no problem with legal immigration.
We're you the party "compelling conformity" in Covid?
Aren't you the party that wants to control all media?

No one buys your BS anymore which is the real struggle session here.

From the party of "ditch the president, undemocratically install someone 'better'...

I bet you have no idea how crazy this sounds. You can't. You can't know

If the Dems hadn't done that Trump would win. Now he doesn't. Trump is just a dementia addled old hater that is obviously unfit for the demands of the job.

Thank you for admitting you will do what it takes to win, even if it's undemocratic.

I mean--we knew that

And btw, he still has a great shot at winning

^^ Oh my, the poor Satanic commies are mad at America again.

Democrats need to look in the mirror.
But every time they do the mirror cracks.

Democrats just need to stop worrying about what people think and put their boot on the necks of the American people and make them all realize that their government has been taken from them like China doe it's population.

Sure, they have elections as well.

LOL.

Democrats never ask "How is it things are so close with Trump"?

Democrats created Trump by running Hillary. Perhaps the most despised politician in years. The electorate was telling the Democrats they didn't want Hillary but the DNC was going to see to it and force it on them.

She loses primaries in states like Michigan and Wisconsin but still the DNC insists.

They are doing the same with Harris.

How many years did we hear "Make the rich pay their fair share"? What happens there? Nothing. And then the DNC wonders why people don't get enthused over them running on that again.

I believe that democrats are going to raise taxes by $5 trillion. They just hired a bigger army of IRS agents than most countries have people fighting in their military to take money from Americans across the country.

It is just a matter of getting the average voter to believe that this will not impact them in any way whatsoever economically, something that deep down we all know is just another big lie just like when Obama said that Obamacare would make health care more affordable.
