Vladimir Medinsky’s statements reveal Moscow’s fear that Ukraine might follow Azerbaijan’s path, militarily reclaiming occupied territory, undermining the Kremlin’s imperial ambitions across the former Soviet Union.

Russia is very fearful of losing more influence in it's former satellite countries. Putin and his allies are using the same false claims to justify their meddling in the affairs of these countries, as it did in the lead up to the invasion of Ukraine. There is no way Putin is going to be happy with only the territory he has annexed in Ukraine. Americans can understand Russia as the aggressor in Ukraine, but the Armenian-Azerbaijan affair may be too obscure. In any case, Putin will continue to try and reassemble the old USSR states, until someone uses force to stop him.

Russia doesn't look for targets, they are created by US aggression. As is now apparently true for Afghanistan too.

Perhaps the answer is simpler. Perhaps Putin just wants to reassemble the USSR.
Of course he is. But in doing so, he is establishing proxies, like Armenia, to do his dirty work.

Trump continues to drag his ass in regard to Russia's and North Korea's invasion of Ukraine, but there are signs he doesn't want to be recognized as a long-term unwitting dupe in the squalid caper.

Putin is going down, and Trump will get his foot into Vlady's groin when he's writhing on the floor.

The collapse of relations between Russia and Azerbaijan came in a series of quick-fire blows...
Then came the threat, on Russian state TV, that Baku could be “taken in three days”, echoing rhetoric used before the 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
War is unlikely. But the rift is real – and dangerous for Moscow because Armenia, after fighting a series of brutal wars with Azerbaijan over 30 years, is aligning with its old enemy to push Putin out of the South Caucasus...
... Like Azerbaijan’s, Armenia’s ties with Moscow have frayed...

Don't tell me, let me guess. We're supposed to add onto our 37 trillion dollar debt arming Azerbaijan.

Russia's claims are not false. NATO countries have been ******* with Russia for decades.

What do want President Trump to do?

Biden gave Putin the green light to invade so we can have a new forever war.

Do you want us to send troops there? Yes or no.

I'm sure he would love to. He'd be a hero in his culture if he did that.
That is Poootin's ultimate goal, to reassemble the old USSR. And he will succeed if force is not used to stop him. Next will come Europe.

I doubt it, but my eyes will remain open.

This is false.

The Russians have been interfering in the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia since thec1990’s.

He has said so openly.

In fact, he used to say it a lot. Until his war went sideways.

A know nothing statement gets a know nothing response!
Know nothing.... The idea that NATO has remained a defensive organization. This is where all the trouble starts.

If he was able to use a crystal ball to look ahead I don't think he would have started the special military campaign. However an honest analysis of the history of that area squarely puts the provocation in NATO'S lap.
