Why is Africa and the Middle East so poor?

Why did they not develop industries and factories?

I hear that Colonialism may be big factor had under Colonialism is the direct occupation and control of a region to extract resources and undermine its stability and growth.

Both regions have extremely long histories of this practice fracturing, breaking, and dismantling any mobility and upward growth. And have long history of Colonialism.

/----/ One problem is that US Enviro Wackos block cheap, affordable electric power plants from being built in Africa.

Right...But it's the Euros who would be building those power plants.

If the natives weren't dullards as a people in general, they'd build them themselves.
/----/ Libs always know what's best for everyone else.
Rural households in Africa rely on solid biomass such as fuel wood or coal fuels for basic cooking. They use open fire or charcoal stoves to cook food often indoors; however, these methods are not sustainable or efficient. Wood and charcoal emit harmful gases into the atmosphere, including smoke and greenhouse gases (GHG). These toxins contribute to climate change and respiratory diseases.

The consistent need for wood has led to deforestation, which has contributed to global warming. Many African communities face a fuel-wood shortage since the demand for wood outweighs the supply. Forests are dwindling at rapid rates due to fuel wood being harvested in unsustainable ways. Wood harvesting impacts water flow and contributes to soil erosion. In addition, families spend extensive time and money collecting wood and charcoal which could be spent on more fulfilling tasks such as school or work.

They're insane, believing that doing the same failed things will eventually succeed. It's almost impossible to help them because as soon as we leave whatever success they have soon collapses.

Add to that the 'curse of Canaan' and the servitude of the descendants of Ham.

Dubai poor?

The Middle East is far from poor. They have a rich oil industry. Now, you can say some parts are far from free, like the Dems allies in Iran, or the areas controlled by their pals Hamas.

As far as Africa, again, I think a lot of the country is rich, but again, most aren't free due to leftist tyrannical regimes.

You believe the Gulf States are poor also?
Not poor, only by the geographic happenstance of sitting on an ocean of oil.

The Bedouins are only slightly smarter, as a people, than the sub-Saharans.

About the only thing I can think of that that the Arabs gave modern society of any great value was the zero.

With regards to the Middle East, the gulf states are among the most richest and safest in the world. You’re thinking of a country like Yemen. And to some extent Syria, Jordan, Iraq.

As for Africa yes most of the continent is very very poor. And we simply cannot blame colonialism. That’s just a cop out. All you have to do is look at Singapore a country which was colonized by the British but gained independence in the 20th century… and is one of the most successful countries in the world today

What countries have lots of oil?

15th post
Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait are rich because of oil.

So is Dubai. Most those countries have kings and dictators are have no democracy.
Yup...And those at the high end of the bell curve have figured out how to make a western lifestyle for themselves, while the peasants live in squalor.

US interference and aggression for purposes of colonial expansion.

China and Russia winning U'S victims over with more acceptable methods of friendly persuasion.

That’s a different topic

much of the ME is not poor ..as your OP seems to suggest…nor can colonialism be blamed on the struggle of African countries as we have examples of post colonial states being successful today.
