Evidently he's hoping for the revolution.

What (L)ibertarians often gloss over is that quite a few of them believe the system has to get so bad and the state so powerful, that armed revolution is the only answer.

Well, a lot of active libertarians have been pushing the ideological boundaries for years and the majority do not want to budge from the one party system. Which is already "so bad and so powerful" that any dissent is squashed. Nothing shy of cheating. Libertarians live by the nonaggression principles. But that does not mean self defense is off the table, and that means if the state, which is already totalitarian in nature threatens existence, there is but one option left...and it isn't protesting or organizing a sit in.

The one thing they havent done yet is man the barricades. if things are so bad why havent we seen revolt already occuring? And I dont mean the occasional soverign citizen or milita group basically fighting the local authorities over property taxes, I mean a real, serious effort to overthrow the government?

Revolutions do not occur until hardly anyone has anything left to protect, practically all of us still have TVs and cable, internet, at least one shitty job to keep a roof over our heads and numerous other perks of western civilization that keep us quiet and relatively happy. Those who have these things and still talk of revolution are not serious, more like a fantasy revolution league.

How is it justified retaliation if you are the one empowering and encouraging the totalitarian aggressors?

Dissent is advocating that we push the Nation further into totalitarianism because it will lead the nation to collapse. If you push the nation into totalitarianism, how are justified in violently opposing it later?

There is nothing justified about that scenario. That's planning violent revolution by attempting to decieve others into thinking you are justified in doing what no sane person thinks you are when there peaceful alternatives.

That was and is the goal...its not working...the sheeple are still voting in the lesser of 2 evils and its not working...so a little shock and awe is what we need...shock the hell out of the people with such draconian laws and crackdowns that they will wake up. Or the sheeple will just sit back enjoy their reality tv on their big screen not worrying about the fact food prices are shooting up,the gas prices are almost 10$ a gallon and we can't drive down the road without being stopped several times in checkpoints...nope something won't happen until it all collapses and the government is no longer there to support them.

We're not. It is people like you who are advocating it by votiing in lockstep with one hand of the federal government party. The system is already totalitarian. It simply is visible because you can still sit in your comfy chair and watch TV and still afford food. Human farmers have wised up over the centuries on how to keep the docile complacent.

When teh economic reality of the this countries financial situation comes to a head, and it will, things will change in attitude, ideology and economic standing. The pot will already be boiling.

Willard has no plan to change direction like he claims. Both his, and Ryan's budgets prove that. They are going to continue to spend and kick the can for someone else to deal with it later. Neither hand of the federal govt. party has any plan to change its course. The useful idiots will be the cannon fodder as usual.
