Why does Japan have a low crime rate...it is a country of old people...

When Eurpean and Australian criminals want or need guns they get them, regardless of their extreme gun control laws...they just don't pull the trigger on each other or their victims as often...

Or most gun deaths aren't "Criminals", but someone who just had a gun in easy reach at the wrong moment

Fact is, most murder victims know their killers. Often the person who they share a bed with. As Lenny Briscoe once observed, "IT's usually the spouse".

The whacky idea that if it weren't for those mean old criminals, we'd have a paradise where Cleetus never done shoots Mary Loo because she was a cheatin' whore, is just silly.

We have lots of murders because we have lots of guns... Period.

ess than 8,124 guns used to commit gun murder....

33,000 gun deaths.

They banned Lawn Darts after a handful of deaths.

Wrong.....

320 million guns in private hands in 2013....

Accidental gun deaths in 2013... 505.

Guns are used 1,500,000 times a year to stop violent criminal attack and to save lives...according to bill clinton and barak obama......

Try to use accurate stats.

Wrong...actual research...and not the dialogue of a t.v. character written by a lefty anti gunner.......

Actual research shows that 90% of shooters have a past criminal record and a history of violence and would not even be close to being a normal person.

Nice lie though.....normal gun owning Americans are not the ones shooting people...

357,000,000 million guns in private hands

less than 8,124 guns used to commit gun murder, the majority are criminals....murdering other criminals...who are considered by the police "people who know each other," and not normal gun owners......

356,991,876 million guns in private hands were not used to commit murder......

You are wrong....

How is less than 8,124 guns used to commit murder in a country with over 357,000,000 guns in private hands lots of murder because we have lots of guns...can you tell which number is bigger and by how much......

Can you tell how stupid your point actually is?

Even if it were 8124 and NOT 33,000, that would STILL be too high of a number.

And it's still tiny, dude.

Criminals are murdering criminals in that 8,124 number......not normal people.....

The CDC disagrees with you joe.......you love the CDC....

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/25/us/cdc-gun-violence-wilmington.html?_r=0

When epidemiologists from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention came to this city, they were not here to track an outbreak of meningitis or study the effectiveness of a particular vaccine.

They were here to examine gun violence.

This city of about 70,000 had a 45 percent jump in shootings from 2011 to 2013, and the violence has remained stubbornly high; 25 shooting deaths have been reported this year, slightly more than last year, according to the mayor’s office
.-------

The final report, which has been submitted to the state, reached a conclusion that many here said they already knew: that there are certain patterns in the lives of many who commit gun violence.

“The majority of individuals involved in urban firearm violence are young men with substantial violence involvement preceding the more serious offense of a firearm crime,”

the report said. “Our findings suggest that integrating data systems could help these individuals better receive the early, comprehensive help that they need to prevent violence involvement.”

And yet more research to show you are wrong joe..

Most murder victims in big cities have criminal record

A review of murder statistics across America shows that in many large cities, up to 90 percent of the victims have criminal records.
----
---
The report concludes that “of the 2011 homicide victims, 77 percent (66) had a least one prior arrest and of the known 2011 homicide suspects 90 percent (74) had at least one prior arrest.”
----------

In early 2012, after pressure put on the police by murder victims’ families in New Orleans, the police department stopped revealing whether or not the murder victim had a prior record.

---------------

Though data is no longer published in Baltimore, USA Today reported in 2007 that 91 percent of the then-205 murder victims in the city between Jan. 1 and Aug. 31, 2007, had criminal records.

---------
A WND review of the Philadelphia Police Department Murder and Shooting Analysis for 2011 shows a similar pattern to that of other large cities in America – a majority of the murder victims have prior records.

--------
In Philadelphia in 2011, of 324 murders, 81 percent (263) of the victims had at least one prior arrest; 62 percent (164) had been arrested for a violent crime prior to their murder.

----------

In Newark, N.J., long considered one of America’s most dangerous cities, 85 percent of the 165 murder victims between 2009 and 2010 had serious arrest histories.

Anthony Braga, a professor with the Rutgers-Newark School of Criminal Justice, told the Newark Star-Ledger that 85 percent of 165 murder victims in Newark between 2009 and 2010 had been arrested at least once before they were killed.

Those victims, he said, had, on average, 10 prior arrests on their criminal records.

A WND review of the Chicago Police Department Murder Analysis reports from 2003 to 2011 provides a statistical breakdown of the demographics of both the victims and offenders in the 4,265 murders in Chicago over that time period.

Of the victims of murder in Chicago from 2003 to 2011, an average of 77 percent had a prior arrest history, with a high of 79 percent of the 436 murdered in Chicago in 2010 having arrest histories.

again, you are cherry picking your data to make your case.

Fact is, most murder victims know their killers.

But I guess you do have a point. If most murder victims were white, you guys wouldn't be able to get away with the shit you get away with. It's why so many pants were soiled at the NRA when a VA Tech or Columbine or Sandy Hook happen. "Oh, Shit, they are shooting WHITE Kids!"

2aguy just stop facts don't matter for JoeB131 he just feels guns are bad so they are bad

No, i feel guns are bad because we have 33,000 gun deaths, 70,000 gun injuries and 500,000 gun crimes every year. Not to mention the cost of gun violence being about 270 BILLION a year.

These are actually bad things.

2AGuy feeling better about his really tiny dick is not a compensating good.

Who disagrees with you moron....yes...most criminals who murder each other know each other, and they also murder their girlfreinds and other family members....criminals have behavior control issues.........

It is the democrats who only care about minorities on voting days...

We want gun criminals locked up for a long time so they can't keep killing....

Wrong again....

Suicides don't count, since Japan, South Korea and China have zero access to guns and higher suicide rates than we do...as do many countries in Europe....

Accidental gun injuries in 2013...when the country had over 320 million guns in private hands... 505.

Non fatal gun injuries...

How Many Accidental Gun Injuries per Year? - The Volokh Conspiracy

A guest on the HuffPost Live discussion noted in the post below mentioned that guns injure 5,000 people per year (presumably in the U.S.).

Actually, according to CDC’s WISQARS, there are about 14,000-19,000 nonfatal injuries stemming from accidental shootings per year in the U.S., though only about 600 people killed in such shootings.

As always, keep in mind the limitations of this data, including that some suicides and suicide attempts could be misclassified as accidents.

So you are wrong on all counts joe...sucks to be you....

I agree...but I enjoy showing him the truth....

With all due respect, you're not showing him anything. He's playing you like a sap. He's a sh#t-flinging monkey at the zoo.

You can't "show him the truth". He's not here for that. But you can show him a one-way ticket to ignore island. Starve the troll of oxygen. You'll raise the IQ level of your discussions.

out of what 230 million guns or whatever that number quoted was? It's penny anny shit.

Guy, we lock up 2 million people, most of them people of color. If locking people up and arming people were really deterents to crime, we'd have the lowest crime rates in the free world, not the highest.
