Why does Bernie need the Democratic Party?

the guy has raised more money than Hillary or Obama. When he loses to Hillary all that money goes into the dnc (I believe). It would just seem like a waste. Why does he need the Democratic Party? He clearly doesn't need their money.

It takes way more than 2 million to run a campaign.
If all it took was 10 million, I know plenty of people with the assets and time to run for President.

Yep...they won't get MNC donations because they're both for Fair Trade and elimination of Business Visas.

I really think that if Bernie went third party he would do better. His supporters are passionate and he has proven he can raise money by himself.
