Excellent question. Unfortunately even Falwell can't talk sense into every one who calls themselves a Christian.
---45% of Catholics and 39% of “Protestant/Other-denomination” Christians voted Democrat in the 2016 Presidential Elections,
according to Pew. In other words, Christians have the power to swing the 2020 election---

Good question. Liberal "Christians" preach a doctrine of hierarchy, not unlike the temple system with its aristocracy of hypocrites that God so detested.
The Founding Fathers were appalled at the Church of England as the State preached from the pulpit.
But the movement of Black Liberation Theology begins to take it's grip on the nation, the theology that Obama was under, the return of the state to the pulpit has once again taken root.
Now we here men like Jeb Bush saying we should embrace illegal aliens because Jesus said we should, while dismissing the parts of the Bible that talk about sexual practices and the sanctity of life as needing a separation of church and state to keep those issues separate from our laws.
It's funny, isn't it, how lefties claim no belief in God (or disparage Him as if they do), and then claim to be Christians.
Every time you hear them say how we need to embrace illegals or give welfare, etc., Jesus is mentioned.
Then when the subject of abortion or gay marriage comes up, we need a separation of church and state.
But this is done with the Constitution as well. When the Constitution can be used to push a point it is used, but when it conflicts with what is wanted it simply gets ignored.
Such is the world of the politics of men.
