Right there is his motivation. He said he hates Republicans and he hates Trump shortly before he stole his father's gun and shot Trump and several Republicans.

These types almost always leave some sort of "manifesto" behind. However, he said "You got the wrong guy". That's interesting. It's almost like he expected some patsy to get arrested while he got away Scott free. Could this mean that there was a conspiracy?
