Why can't a caustic jackhole be a good president?

Trump said, he was a "war hero" because he was captured. Now, do you agree or disagree with that?
Drumpf Truck said that SARCASTICALLY after he said McCain was NOT a "war hero." So he was saying nothing McCain did was heroic EXCEPT being captured while Drumpf Truck was dodging the draft.

McCain was shot down on his 23rd combat mission. You would have to be incredibly stupid, as Drumpf Truck and Calabrese and you obviously are, to assume that major damage was not inflicted on the enemy in the previous 22 combat missions!!!

I've not said anything about McCain's service, nor did Trump or Calabrese. You are inferring things into what was said, as you typically do here.
And you are lying as usual. Calabrese clearly and undeniably said:

By pointing out what is simple fact - McCain is seen as a war hero because he was captured, as opposed to having avoided capture and inflicting major damage on the enemy
Lie and deny, that is all you ever do.

Right... the OTHER way people become known as "war heroes."

Drumpf Truck said that SARCASTICALLY after he said McCain was NOT a "war hero."

Well now you are ADMITTING that you are intentionally parsing what the man said.

And you think you have ANY credibility?

You're allowed to believe whatever you want when you're in this nation.

Really? Because Liberals here lately don't sound like that's what they believe is allowed at all. You are destroying people because they refuse to bake a cake or because they proudly fly a rebel flag. You are here trying to destroy Trump's candidacy because of his beliefs. If anyone dares to challenge Liberal beliefs, you are there to hoot them down and call them every name in the book.

Apparently what he meant to say is that you can believe it so long as you don't tell anyone.

No. Someone with a cause of action sued a baker who wouldn't bake a cake.

Governor Haley of SC started the ball rolling on bringing down that ridiculous flag. Senator Graham and Governor Walker (both running for President on the GOP ticket) quickly followed suit as did a number of other republicans.

Shove it up your ass.

Again, shove it up your ass. Here is a list of people calling Trump names; not one liberal amongst them.

GOP presidential candidates slam Trump comments on McCain News OK
GOP candidates and the Republican National Committee issued statements, mostly on Twitter, responding to Trump.

Here are some:

Carly Fiorina
McCain "served w honor&courage-proud to call him a friend. GOP voters deserve better than outrageous statements & personal attacks."

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry
“Donald Trump should apologize immediately for attacking Senator McCain and all veterans who have protected and served our country. As a veteran and an American, I respect Sen. McCain because he volunteered to serve his country. I cannot say the same of Mr. Trump. His comments have reached a new low in American politics. His attack on veterans make him unfit to be Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces, and he should immediately withdraw from the race for President.”

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush
"Enough with the slanderous attacks. @SenJohnMcCain and all our veterans - particularly POWs have earned our respect and admiration."

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker

"@SenJohnMcCain is an American hero, period. I’ll denounce any attack against his service and anyone else who wears the uniform."

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham

"If there was ever any doubt that @realDonaldTrump should not be our commander in chief, this stupid statement should end all doubt. (McCain) like every other POW, went through hell & has earned our respect & gratitude."

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio

"America’s POWs deserve much better than to have their service questioned by the offensive rantings of Donald Trump."

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul

"I don't always see eye to eye with @SenJohnMcCain. But I honor his service and the sacrifices he made for our country."

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie

"I know @SenJohnMcCain. Senator John McCain is an American hero. Period. Stop."

Republican National Committee communications director Sean Spicer

"Senator McCain is an American hero because he served his country and sacrificed more than most can imagine. Period. There is no place in our party or our country for comments that disparage those who have served honorably.”..

You get nowhere by trying to bully people.

Well I guess Trump must not be a bully, he has made a fortune twice.

I would venture to guess, when it comes to business deals, the person who doesn't know what they are talking about between you and Trump, is probably not Trump.

He inherited a lot of money and (to his credit) didn't wreck the yatch. So far, his show is off the air permanently, his beauty pageant is off the air, his branded products are out of the stores, and people are falling over themselves to distance themselves from him.

Oh and by the way, he took advantage of liberal bankruptcy laws (four times). The man is a joke. You're too idiotic to realize the joke is on you.

I agree 100%. Good posts Boss

McCain isn't a hero. He survived being a POW like so many others before him. He didn't win the CMH or any other honors for surviving. What he did win was a ticket into politics.

McCain took his survival and made it into Congress where he's been ever since.

Liberals take exception to anything they don't approve of and then turn it into a national event.

Only some idiot would object to a flag, or someone not wanting to bake a ******* cake.

They call everyone racist who doesn't care about that ******* flag or the cake baker.

As for Trump?? I see him as a breath of fresh air in politics. If you ask the man a question he'll give you an honest answer and won't give a shit if you don't like that answer.

Ask one of our professional politicians a question and they will tell you what they think you want to hear.

Would he get the nomination?? Don't know.

Would I vote for him?? Don't know that either but it will be fun to find out.

WOW.... LiberalsRus.ORG must have issued marching orders! You are armed to the teeth with pull-quotes to derail the Trump candidacy you were drooling over just the other day! My goodness... how are you ever going to get this "dream opponent" for Hillary if you destroy him now?

You guys are a hoot when you're talking outta both sides of your mouth!

Guess Ol'Shit Ingot, CC doesn't like a breath of fresh air in politics.

Oh and give her a minute. She'll come up with one of her "good points" any minute now.

She'd rather breath the fumes from the PC correct crowd in DC.

Oh and a caustic jackhole would make a great president because he would tell the rest of the world exactly what he thinks and now give a shit if they liked it or not. I like that.

Sure Trumps gone bankrupt and come back. Shows what a good businessman he is. Guess Shit Ingot is jealous of his billions. I know I am. LOL

Yeah, the way McCain did in the 22 previous combat missions he flew while Drumpf Truck dodged the draft.

Yeah, the way McCain did in the 22 previous combat missions he flew while Drumpf Truck dodged the draft.

He wasn't the only one dodging the draft if that's what he was doing.

McCain flew missions as did many others but he's no hero. Hell my brother fought in Vietnam and my cousin did three tours over there and no one is calling them hero's. Of course neither was captured.

He survived like so many other POW's in every war ever fought. He did nothing to be considered as a hero.

He took his survival and turned it into a career in politics. Another mouth breather in DC.

Drumpf Truck said that SARCASTICALLY after he said McCain was NOT a "war hero."

Well now you are ADMITTING that you are intentionally parsing what the man said.

And you think you have ANY credibility?
Oh, I forgot, ONLY you are allowed to parse what the draft dodger said.
Trump simply said he favored people who didn't get captured. I get his point. He's not knocking McCain's service or even his "hero" status, for that matter... just stating his preference.
Remember Drumpf Truck came right out and said his comment was an attack on McCain for calling his followers "crazies." If he was just stating a "preference" as you parse what he said, then how is that hitting back?

“Look, when people attack me, I let them have it back,”
Drumpf Truck

15th post
Yeah, the way McCain did in the 22 previous combat missions he flew...

Is that why you know him as a war hero?
That is why I know he inflicted major damage on the enemy, which Calabrese denies he did and defines as another type of hero who does inflict major damage on the enemy.

By pointing out what is simple fact - McCain is seen as a war hero because he was captured, as opposed to having avoided capture and inflicting major damage on the enemy

He inherited a lot of money...

And he went bankrupt with it... what's your point?
Drumpf Truck never declared personal bankruptcy. After he bled his companies dry and paying himself handsomely for doing it, he declared corporate bankruptcy 4 times sticking his creditors and investors with the loss. That is how the draft dodger made his fortune.

Politics The silly outrage that follows a candidate s insensitive words Best of Cain

I loved this article by Dan Calabrese, one of my favorite political writers. It raised a valid question and one that I would like to open this thread in discussion of:

Why can't a caustic jackhole be a good president?

Someone must have really said something horrible when a bunch of people who can't stand John McCain are incensed over a purported insult of John McCain. Someone needs to explain the rules to Donald Trump: The senator from Arizona, who regularly refers to those who disagree with him as "crazies" and "wacko birds", must always be acknowledged as a war hero. No exceptions. No room for discussion about whether the designation of "hero" should be limited to those who actually achieve something that furthers the war effort - as opposed to the tragedy colored with honor that characterizes five years as a prisoner of war under the most inhumane conditions imaginable.

Oh, I'm sorry, did I just cross the line too by wondering aloud if the right words are typically applied here? Well then I guess I'm not going to be president either. I'll find something else to do. Not a problem.

By pointing out what is simple fact - McCain is seen as a war hero because he was captured, as opposed to having avoided capture and inflicting major damage on the enemy - Trump is now coming in for the predictably universal condemnation that even sees McCain's biggest critics among the punditry calling for Trump's head. You. Cannot. Question. War. Heroism.

Clearly Trump violated this ironclad rule of American politics, which suggests to me that it's a good time to ask a very basic question: Why do we have that rule? More broadly, why do we have the rule that says any candidate who makes a statement that's rude, insulting, upsetting, obnoxious or insensitive must be bum-rushed from the race?

Edited to comply with copyright rules.
---------------------------------

I agree with Calabrese, Trump is not my first or even second choice, but if it came down to him versus Hillary, I'd vote for him without any reservations. I don't care what he says really, it's more about what he does. I don't automatically assume we are better off with the nice guy. Lots and lots of nice guys finishing last out there.

The president is essentially an administrator. At most he can suggest new bills, but only congress can create law and the courts interpret them. He is, however, the primary diplomat for the nation - both externally and internally. So the most important skill for any effective president is their ability to work with other people. Which I think answers the question of why a caustic jackhole can't be a good president.

He inherited a lot of money...

And he went bankrupt with it... what's your point?

You don't even know the history of those you're supporting. The reason you don't bother to learn is because like Bundy, Zimmerman, Cain, Gingrich, Bachman, Joe the Plumber, the cops that shoot blacks in the back for no reason, you have to chunk them under the bus about 48 hours after pledging your allegiance.

Trump bled the companies dry and then declared them bankrupt. Try learning something about the subject you're discussing.
