The report of another violent thug setting another young woman on fire on the Chicago subway is even more shameful when it was revealed that the savage monster had been arrested and 72 times!
So the discussion is: Why, in Democrat cities where crime is already alarmingly high, and particularly Chicago, are the public prosecutors and other related law enforcement so eager to keep dangerous, savage criminals on the street - and so willing to put at risk to law-abiding, innocent people?

Likely because their correctional systems are cutting the number of beds.

Riker's Island in NYC is slated to go from 8500 to 3500 beds.

Democrats have a love affair with criminals.

Then the follow-up question is: why have Democrats decided that the expense associated with protecting innocent people from violent, savage criminals is not worth it - but are fighting to keep illegal immigrants here at a NET cost of $160 billion a year?

Think of all the prisons we could build with even 20% of the savings if we could deport them.

Makes their paperwork much easier, and lowers the crime rate on paper.

Is it worth risking the lives and suffering of innocent Americans just to simplify paperwork?

Why do you concentrate on just Democrats? Trump has pardon violent offenders, drug dealers, even child abusers. Without a doubt, we would be better off as a society, if everyone served the full length of prison time, the law set forth. After all, recidivism shows most are not rehabilitated, many coming out worse, the same crimes or worse than when they went in.

The problem is most apparent in Democrat cities.

As far as the people Trump pardoned, I’m not aware of whom you speak of, but have any of them been arrested for violent crime for 72 incidents?

And as far as criminals coming out worse, maybe we should keep them in.

My theory:

The prosecutors and judges are most likely all George Soros or other deep state funded/promoted. Their purpose is to be lenient to and actually exalt the lawless and they don't care who is victimized as a result of that. The whole mantra of the left is to dismantle American culture and the principles and values that made America the greatest nation the world has ever known.

Destroying those principles and values includes, among other things, turning the 'rule of law' on its head. Criminals have far more deference and rights than do the victims of the crimes.

So the left cries defund the police; dox, demonize, destroy ICE' or any enforcing existing laws because it is 'unfair' to the criminals breaking those laws. The more they succeed, the less power or rights honorable citizens have to protect themselves or enjoy peace and prosperity in their persons, homes and businesses. It weakens the good people and changes the culture which is essential for the left's ultimate goal which is totalitarian power over all.

That was exactly MY theory, but I didn’t want to express it as I didn’t want to “give ideas” to posters. (And besides, you articulated it so much better than I ever could have.)

How the hell do I know how the "blue mind" works? :dunno:

All I know is that it's devoid of any common sense.

The lefties operate on mayhem as mayhem is a key factor in the statist left's divide & conquer strategy.

This might answer your question.

No one wants to face what the democrat goals are.

Because they are the worst offenders.
Worse than the guy subsequently conspiring to kill FBI agents for investiging him?
Worse than the guy subsequently convicted for the death of a woman and severely wounding her husband?
Worse than the guy subsequently convicted on child pornography?
Worse than the guy, subsequently convicted in the death of Lauren Wegner, though acquitted on 1st degree murder?
Worse than the guy, subsequently arrested and convicted on the sexual assault of a7 year old girl, and now sent up again for 19 years?
Worse than the guy subsequently arrested/convicted for home invasion and theft?
Worse than the guy subseqently arrested in Florida earlier in November (having been extradited from Tennessee) on multiple child-sexual-abuse-related charges: lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12, molestation of child aged 12-16, lewd and lascivious exhibition, and transmission of harmful material to a minor, telling on of the kids he would put her in his will?
Worse than the guy subsequently found guilty of multiple charges including menacing, forcible touching, petit larceny, sexual abuse, and failing to pay a fine; some allegations include assaulting a 3-year-old and sexually assaulting his children’s nanny.
Worse than the New Jersey individual whose 24-year sentence for a major real-estate/Ponzi-type fraud scheme was commuted by Trump in January 2021. In March 2025 he was convicted of a new fraud scheme defrauding investors of about $35 million involving medical supplies, baby formula and first-aid kits purportedly destined for Ukraine?
These were all, of course, indiscriminate Trump pardons, not some supposed Democrat parole board, and all subsequent felony convicts.
Only one of these offenders were pardoned on white collar crime, but went on to commit truly heinous offenses, and one white collar on the list, of course going on to commit even larger white collar swindles, involving charity.

Sounds like you have a simply partisan axe to grind, with your own supported president, as bad as any parole board in the country.
