But yes, Hoover did a lot of good things as President--he was nowhere near the failure that history assigns him to. He didn't promote policies that made things worse. But what he lacked was President Trump's amazing intuitiveness, instincts and skill set to make policies work, make them effective to accomplish goals and objectives.

Nevertheless, had Hoover been re-elected instead of the country rejecting him for FDR, I think the Depression would not have been nearly so deep or long lasting.
