I was just thinking about stupid people in the world today, and it dawned on me, I met someone in a past job that was THE most stupid person I've ever met in my whole life!!!

This was at a past job, not too long ago. I worked as a Billing Admin and had to cover the front desk when the main office admin went to lunch.

Well, one day this woman came in and said she is the new HR Manager for our location. She needed to know how to mail a letter.
I took that to mean she just needed to drop it somewhere to get picked up by the postal carrier. So I told her there's a main mailbox downstairs.

She said she didn't need to drop it off, she needed to mail a letter and didn't know HOW to mail a letter. Just as she was talking to me, the head office Admin came back from lunch. She asked the HR woman what exactly did she mean by "need to know how to mail a letter".

Apparently this supposed "professional" HR Manager had never mailed anything in her life!!!! My brain went numb over this. HOW does anyone NOT know how to ******* address an envelope, fold up the letter, put it IN the envelope and put a stamp on it???? Shit, toddlers know how to mail a damned letter, and this stupid HR woman couldn't even figure it out on her own? Or watch a Youtube tutorial?

I've met some stupid people in my life, but this HR "Manager" became the top notch stupid fuktard of all time, that I've ever met.

You meet anybody that stupid???

Stupid is a relative term. I knew of a guy, who I didnt know well but he was known by a guy I knew so he would hang around once in awhile.

He used to get drunk all the time, walk the streets, pick fights with strangers, pick fights with friends, whatever.

One day he apparently got hammered, walked the streets late at night as he usually did, crossed a street, was hit by a car and killed. Dead at age 19 or 20 (drinking in Canada is legal at 19, at least in Ontario). For what?

One could call it a shame, a travesty, be more diabolical and suggest it's Darwinism, or, they could simply call it stupid.

Was she a young person? Like, really, really young? Some young people have been using email their whole lives, I can believe them if they have never mailed a letter before.

she may not be stupid but ignorant .. there's a difference .. you cant teach stupid people ..
the lady lives in the tech era where most business and communication is done online ..she actually may have never had the need to physically mail a letter before ..

I believe this, but at the end of the day, people do still get things in a physical mailbox. I am guessing that some people do not pay attention to how things like names and addresses are written on the envelopes and packages that they get from other people. Well, there isn't any time like the present to learn. :) :) :)

God bless you always!!!

P.S. Who is the most stupid person that I've ever encountered in my life so far? I can only pray that it isn't who I see every time that I look in the mirror. Who am I referring to here? Answer: the parent that I look like. :( :( :(

I can't really think of anybody particularly stupid atm, but one person really stood out in my memory: He was saying that it's dangerous to keep guns just lying around in one's house in plain view, because he used to keep guns in his house like that and one day a burglar broke into his house, but luckily he wasn't home so wasn't harmed. He believed that if he had been home that day, the burglar could have just grabbed one of the guns and hurt him. So, his conclusion was that it's dangerous to keep guns lying around at home. God that was the dumbest thing ever, I actually had to look up what kind of fallacy it was, because it was so special, lmao.

All that I can say is that if they are in a hiding place, only the homeowner will know of the hiding place since they are the person who picked the hiding place. :) :) :)

Idk, maybe the back in the day racist black guy on our crew that was reading the Malcolm X
book for literally a week and a half.
He lasted about 3 more days than that. 😆
If you coulda seen the way everybody looked at this one when he said his stupid shit. :auiqs.jpg:
We all knew he was a special kind of stupid.

About the only flat out stupid person I've met myself was a few years back when this Yankee transplant Karen was advocating for a homeless shelter in my AO. I mean that woman had turned her stupid up to 11 and broke the knob off.

Needless to say she never got anywhere with it. Evidently she never thought of the "build it and they will come" angle but she got reminded of it in a hot hurry. I heard she moved on.

A nice guy but a stupid guy was in over his head at one of my recent workplaces.

He once asked me why the drill he was using was having such a hard time drilling holes into a brand new $1700 work bench. I asked why he was drilling holes, it should be pre-drilled. (he had the tabletop upside down, and the drill was in reverse.) So, he asked me which way the bit was "supposed to be going?" and I showed him.

I then warned him that he needed to look at the drill bits to make sure it's not a Left handed/ reverse bit.

He got mad and said, "**** you."

Of course, I said "what? why?"

He then said even he knows there's no such thing as Left Handed (reverse) drill bits.

EDIT: Same guy had a homemade sign above his bench that said "DONT DO STUPED SHIT"

Worded just like that!

My former business partner was the smartest idiot I've ever known. He was a brilliant programmer and had an amazing ability to inspire people. But he made the most destructive stupid decisions you can imagine, both on a business and personal level. He had a wonderful, beautiful wife and three great kids and threw it all away cheating with other women. He nearly bankrupted the company embezzling money and "taking care" of his buddies who were employees. If people are born with low intelligence that's one thing, but it's a special kind of stupid when the person is extremely smart and does colossally stupid things.

I know ignorance isn’t the same thing as stupidity, but it’s truly frightening how many spectacularly ignorant people there are out there.

Especially where it comes to things like basic geography and history. So many Americans know nothing about the world around them, or even their own country.

I’m talking people who can’t even name the states that border the one they live in, or when the Vietnam War was mentioned they said “wasn’t that the one with Sadam Hussein?”

^^^ A good way to know how bad off people are where knowledge is concerned is watching that one segment of the Jesse Watters show when the people are being asked questions about whatever the subject of concern is for that day, and we see how many people give the right answers and the wrong ones.

God bless you and Jesse always!!!

A few memories come to mind.

When I was a personnel clerk in Vietnam, I had the estimable pleasure of in-processing a group of soldiers who had been drafted under Secretary McNamara's initiative to draft people whose AFQT scores put them in the "too stupid to be of any use" category. I recall interviewing one fellow who had somehow made it to Vietnam without having identified his Next of Kin, a bit of information that was essential under the circumstances (more than 60% of these unlucky bastards died in combat). When I asked him his address (the address of his mother), he literally didn't know what I meant. He started describing the neighborhood where he lived and its proximity to the local post office. He was seriously and formally, stupid.

Several years later, working in DoD, we had a secretary/clerk whose position had been eliminated, so she was reassigned to the file room, to do whatever they wanted her to do. Her boss told her to look over the new, incoming contracts to get a feel for what they contained and how they were organized. At lunchtime on that first day, she told her boss that the contracts were very repetitive. Well, that is the case because much content of the standard DoD contracts is comprised of "boilerplate" language, so that a lot of it is repeated in every contract. But on further examination, she was a step beyond that. We got five copies of every new contract, and she was reading every one of them, not realizing that she was reading the same document five times. She was induced to retire within a few weeks after that. I wonder what the hell she had been doing in her previous job.

Just last summer, I was traveling along Interstate 80 in Central Pennsylvania and stopped at a Wendy's for lunch. The counter person was a restaurant Assistant Manager, as indicated by her name tag. My total came out to $17.91. Just making conversation, I wondered aloud, "I wonder what was going on in 1791." Her response was, "The Hitler thing?"

Of course.

Back in the early 70's we were rebuilding the 14th-Upsher St area housing project in DC that was federal money, and the local had to hire local talent to meet the contract. I had a young guy I was supposed to "mentor" and he was scared to death of electricity and pretty much everything else. I had him cutting old burnt wiring out so we could redo it, and somehow, he found one that was still connected. It blew a hole in his Kleins and knocked him on his ass. Her got up ok, and I grabbed his pliers and handed it to him, but he wouldn't touch them again, he said there was a devil in them. He wasn't much help before that and after that even less, but you couldn't let him go, he was just decoration.
