What is unamerican about it? I am a textualist, which is about as american as you can get. I put freedom and liberty over safety and the collective, which is about as American as you can get. I believe in a small centralized govt, which is about as American as you can get.

Textualism is supposed to be the way. If it was made to be interpreted however, then that would make the document redundant.
