A pig gets elected and starts doing pig stuff and because he only goes to rallies of people that like him he ignores the majority that know he's a Mussolini dying to end the democracy and buddy up with Putin and Un. You don't have to guess he himself said of dictatorship "maybe we'll try that here someday".
A look at the films of Germans between 1933 and 1939 shows a huge following for Hitler of people that were batshit in love with him. Just watch the crowds during that time he was worshiped as a god. There were also, though, smaller numbers of people that saw exactly what he was and where things were heading and those with money left Germany. Others recorded on film and in journals/diaries how heinous their country had become and how nobody dared say a word or defy the Nazi party even a little. One documentary I watched the man writing in his journal noted his neighbor who had decried the Nazis had disappeared one day. He was found with holes drilled into him via electric drills and he was beaten to death by the government.

So far the cons dear leader has been held in check by the courts and he hasn't dared cross them. But we're already seeing in the Supreme Court a right wing cabal that will likely rubber stamp whatever orange turd does. Republicans in Congress are spineless cowards so that branch of government is of no consequence.
If the American people do not give control of Congress back to the Democrats who WILL stop Trump dead in his tracks then the country deserves what it gets. Trump will be then emboldened to do what he really wants to do, get rid of the Constitution. Gorsuch said this week he'd love to rewrite the 4th amendment. 52% of Republicans have already said they would support suspending the 2020 elections if Trump said so. Take these people at their own word. THEY are saying what they'd like to do.
And if Lying Trump and his whackjob followers are just blathering and when push comes to shove he doesn't try to suspend elections or even in November if the Republicans lose both houses try to overturn or declare them 'fake' then the democracy has dodged a bullet and the American people have made the correction.
But suppose Trump does try to do that or any other number of illegal moves and his supporters follow him.
