Over in the thread concerning inner city schools, I brought this point up. Not trying to sound racist, but bringing up a very real point. White families in the mid-20th Century saw something they didn't want to deal with. And that is the cities have become overcrowded, crime infested, and decaying cesspools. But before WWII, there were extremely few options available except slums, tenements, and housing projects, or live on farms and very isolated towns/villages. Add to that returning Veterans from WWII and new families were emerging at breakneck speed. So, how do we house them? Do we build more projects like Pruitt-Igoe, which became an example of what NOT to do?
