Looking to buy an all around pistol.....

Looking at ....

Shield Plus
Shield X
Glock 48
HK P30 sk

Any thoughts?

I'm a wheel-gun man for concealed carry so a 70s vintage Cobra or Detective Special. ;)

I do sort of like the Shield M&P 2.0 Compact.

As an aside.....I saw something today at the gun shop I did not know was being made.....A S&W Model 610 10mm revolver! It was lightly used for $600-ish.

You can shoot .40 S&W in it too.

Of course for both you have to use moon clips.

I was sorta tempted but I have a 10mm M1911.

OK, I gotta ask now: I'd be interested to hear your arguments both pro and against for both revolver and pistol for concealed carry.

That makes sense, seeing that 10mm is only 1/167th of an inch smaller than 10mm.

....I'm not about to argue the point....A revolver just works for me.....

Why? You don't know? Blind luck? Cost? Feel? Because there is less to go wrong?

Ever have a revolver JAM on you?

I'm trying to run a farm , and i'm growing blind.......so if you folks don't mind i'll stick to my room brooms......i'll eventually hit something..... ~S~

I have a lot of carry guns, but I come back to my S&W 442 often. It’s so comfortable to carry, especially in the heat in Texas.

Back when I used to reload I had a full house round I reloaded back a primer out and lock a S&W N-Frame .357 (Model 28) up.

That's the only time I can remember but that was my fault. A solid whack on the cylinder opened it up to clear it but lesson learned.

But yeah, I've had a lot of semi-auto handguns malfunction, enough for me not to really trust them to CC. I'd sure not want a stovepipe malfunction in a life or death situation.

Sure, I might only get six rounds off before a reload but I can be confident that it would go bang six times. ;)

In most gunfights, three rounds are typically fired. This is supported by various studies and law enforcement statistics, which indicate that most defensive shootings occur within a distance of three yards and involve three rounds fired. The average number of rounds fired in a gunfight is about three, which is consistent with many real-world incidents where the goal is to neutralize the threat quickly.

I kind of expected that was a big factor. Most personal defense situations are not gunfights, and like you say, if you can't hit and kill your target in close quarters with six rounds, you probably should just stay home. :SMILEW~130:

Pretty sure bet that if you squeeze off a revolver, something is going to go BANG.
