There were more than 23 million more ballots counted in the 2020 Presidential election than in 2016. This four-year increase was much greater than any in American history. What is even more unusual is that the (electoral vote) winner of the 2016 election won 11 million more votes in 2020 yet still lost that election.

Probably because the election was very divisive.

Trump v. Hillary was a bore fest. No one liked Hillary. But they didn't like Trump either. So they didn't vote. It had the highest turn out since 1960, but not that much, less than 5% up on 2008 when Obama was elected. Obama excited people, both because they hated him and because they liked him. Same for Trump.

Trump got 12 million more votes than 2016 when he was elected. Are you suggesting Trump was cheating too?

This is high, but not out of historical context.

Between 2000 and 2004, votes went up 15.87%
From 1988-1992 votes sent up 14.21%
Way back in 52 the votes went up 26.04% from 1948

They were much better at cheating in 1952 compared to Americans in 2020.
