It depends on who posts it. If it's an Obama supporter, it becomes Old real quick.

My guess is the second you click on it, it becomes "old" to you...but not necessarily to everyone else until they click on it

It appears to be based on number of views, not replies. Here's one from 2003 that never got a reply.
