I am finishing up a 6 day tour of New England (Rails and Sails) and find myself keen to get back to my daily routines.

My sister used to like touring and cruising, but when she became "that old lady who is always the last one back on the bus," she gave it up. I'm not the last one back on the bus - far from it - but it feels odd to be experiencing something nice that I planned for months, and yet I'm "ready" to resume by boring daily grind, just because I'm used to it.

Maybe YouTube is my touring venue now.

Your body will tell you.

I get it, I used to like to range farther but these days an hour one-way trip seems "long".

To be honest, nothing comes up to home in my eyes.

If I spend a week surf fishing.....On they way back I can't wait to see the mountains off in the distance again.

It's a state of mind, even the traveling itself. I know, I've always been a roamer.

For me, It's always been about experiences with people. What it is/was for you I don't know. But I never was into a quick stop here and there and snap a photo or video. That would be far too boring. Can do better on ty

good luck going forward

Never. My uncle's father celebrated his birthday with an Iron Butt motorcycle ride. (Northern tip of Maine to Key West, IIRC) His 90th birthday. He also turned 190,000 miles on his Goldwing.

Not everyone physically ages at the same rate. Look at Trump, he's nearly 80 flies all over the world and has seemingly boundless energy. Others are toast by their 60s.

My grandparents took a number of trips with us several hundred miles away within 5 years of their deaths. They died at 89 and 90.

My parents were traveling until their late 80s.

I am 66, rolling up on 67 and retirement. I don't know what the answer to that is yet. I know that I don't care for the whole hassle of flying anymore and after about 4 days of being anywhere else, I'm ready for home.

You are too old when your needs interfere with all others you are travelling within every way.
