When a VP is elected president, it is general assumed by the opposition that the two presidencies will be about the same but is that true? History tells us, not necessarily.
Teddy Roosevelt - his beliefs and policies were far different than McKinney in every way as was their presidency.
Harry Truman - FDR's VP was selected for political reasons. The two men had little in common and neither was their presidency's.
Richard Nixon- shared much of Eisenhower's beliefs but the two men's presidencies were radically different.
Lyndon Johnson- was JFK VP because the democrats believed Johnson would delivery the southern states. The two men did not trust each other and JFK sidelined Johnson. It was widely assumed that Johnson would distance himself from the Kennedy administration and policies. However, Johnson surprised everyone by delivering near all of JFK's legislative agenda. plus he carried forward JFK's foreign policies.
George Bush - was Reagan VP because he was needed to unify the party. The two men were virtual polar opposites in terms of their familiarity with and use of intelligence and tools of the presidency. Reagan was the great communicator while Bush a strategist.
Joe Biden -as Obama's VP was in lock step with Obama and critical in getting his legislation passed but as president he was was unable to implement most his policies and was not able to negotiate passage of his most important legislation, immigration.
I can only guess what Harris's presidency would be like but I doubt it would be anything like Biden's presidency.
