Yes, the social Marxists have been very successful using their assets in the public school system, sympathetic judges, the media and the various mainstream Protestant clergy.
Really the leaders of the Anglican collection of Protestant denominations have gone into decline though, and the churches that promote gay marriage, anti-American world views and ignore the consequences of sin and thus the need for the death of Jesus Christ, those denominations are hemorraging membership and will get replaced in the next couple of decades by a resurgent Hispanic led Roman Catholic Church that will be politically aligned with Eastern Orthodox denominations, Evangelicals, Pentecostals and moderate Muslims.
But there need to be found some missing pieces of the jigsaw puzzle first. We have to find replacements for Shakespeare's plays and the King James Bible which once were common sources of world view that bound us together as Christians and classic liberals, generally. I am guessing it could become the Lord of the Rings and a single freshest translation of the Bible like the NIV or New American, but I dont know yet. It might be a Catholic translation instead of a Protestant one.
But a population that no longer shares a set of common assumptions and axioms is not a single population, but a Balkanized one instead. I suspect that the coming Jobless Economy will likely encourage people to link up closer to their local churches for the purposes of charity forms of barter. That will help also.
But we wont know till it happens, but something along those lines will happen.
