No, that's not true. "A" wind generator has fallen over while many oil refineries has caught fire and residential districts have been destroyed by fire in America.

We had one down the street from our place in Idaho. That wasn't bad until a druggy family moved in. We kinda enjoyed some of the people that lived there until then. This one couple was an older couple a bit slow but they were hilarious to listen to.

Worse thing to have moved in right next to your place is a tower. So glad I wasn't there when that happened as it would have gotten very basty.

Here in one of the more the affluent suburbs of Chicago a businessman wanted to put up a Car Dealership. Locals voted it down, would not allow for re-zoning as they wanted to put a subdivision on the then vacant land, so he bought some land nearby that was zoned for agricultural use and leased it out to a hog farmer. Frickin hilarious stuff.

You have nothing to say about them--you are Canadian. You also are not taking into account the environmental impact of wind farms. i.e. bird kills, HUGE non recyclable veins that are buried when they fail. Ruining the skyline view. This is the view driving into Palm Springs, CA

Citizens always have had the right to deal with zoning variations in their community but sadly there is no venue to protest construction of the ugly bird killing machines that generate a tiny amount of energy except if you are a member of the rich elite. The Kennedy clan managed to prevent construction of wind generators off their coast but apparently the middle class in New Jersey have no such power.
