-- Your mayor is a deranged politician who cannot decipher peaceful protests from riots and looters
-- Your death rate makes you look more like Stalingrad in 1942 vs. Chicago in 2020.
Uh, wow, if you are going to make statements like that.

Number of people killed in Chicago this year- 432. That's higher than last year, when the amount for the whole year was 490.

Number of people who died in the Battle of Stalingrad- 478,741 Just on the Russian Side.

-- The Media doesn't cover this because black on black crime is irrelevant to them
Uh, I live here. The media can't shut up about the demonstrations. Most of which have been peaceful and most of the murders have been unrelated to them.

-- You want to protect the innocent people and want to protect local businesses
Do they? The problem with CPD is that they are mostly interested in protecting themselves, that's why they have no respect in the community.

That tells me the police are doing a very bad job of spotting the signs of stress... Police suicides according to your article are 60% higher in Chicago than the rest of the nation.

-- Kim Foxx your prosecutor is inept and won't prosecute people you arrest
No point in prosecuting petty offenses you can't win.. The fact was, the Murder Rate in 2019 was at a three year low. Kim Fox was making progress, up until the point the whole thing fell apart in TRUMP PLAGUE, TRUMP RECESSION and TRUMP RIOTS.
You never answered the question. Stop trolling. Stalingrad was hyperbole. Jeezus

You would think. How did she get elected in the first place?
I'm glad you asked.

We had a guy named Rahm Emmanual. you, know, one of your co-religionists famous for saying, "Never let a Crisis go to waste".

Well, old Rahm had a problem. He was well on his way to a third term until he found out that they would be putting Jason Van Dyke AKA "Officer 16 Shots" on trail for shooting Laquan McDonald about the same time he'd be running for that primary. So Rahm dropped out before people started asking embarrassing questions about his role in the cover-up.

Now, we had a bunch of people in the primary, but Chicago has a rule that if no one gets 50%, the top two vote getters would go into a run-off. The Top Two were Lightfoot, who had a great reputation as a Police Reformer up to that point, and Toni Prekwinkle, the Chairman of the Cook County Board. It was kind of a no-brainer... vote for a reformer, or vote for another machine politician.
How is that working out for you?

How did I forget Rahm Emanual?!!! Lightfoot had a great reputation? Wow...that has changed. Thanks

We are talking about illegal guns.
No! Banning all firearms in the city limits isn't just talking about the illegal guns. Banning all firearms in the city limits goes against the 2nd amendment.

Resign. Mayor Lightfoot has proven she does not have the back of law enforcement. A police chief cannot function under such circumstances. Pathetic.

First, always remember that the first job of every police officer is to survive until his well deserved but early retirement. Thus, it often appears to civilians that police response to threats is disproportionately harsh. But survival is paramount.

The Chief of Police should ask the Mayor and the Governor to outline the parameters of a limited curfew, affecting only the neighborhoods with a recent history of gun violence, backed by the National Guard.

The Chicago PD is also one that has done quite a bit of work with "predictive policing," whereby computer models identify the specific locations in the City where criminal activity is likely to occur, as well as individuals who are most likely to be involved in criminal "mischief." Those people and places should be the focus of police attention when the curfew is not in effect - that is, "all day long."

Chicago seems to be in the perverse position of having very nice and peaceful neighborhoods that are sufficiently isolated from the criminal activity to avoid the anxiety that would appear to be called for, to those who are looking on from the rest of the country. These neighborhoods are bastions of Progressivism, which explains the Democrats' stranglehold on City Hall, though how the current Mayor got to that position is inexplicable.

Never mentioned in the discussions of gunplay in Chicago is the crisis of marksmanship. One constantly hears of large numbers of shootings, resulting in relatively small numbers of fatalities. If one assumes that a shooting usually intends to kill someone, the marksmanship in Chicago is abysmal. Not sure of the solution to that.

Sure I did. I pointed out you were a liar and answered it clearly.

We need to reform our corrupt police department.

How is that working out for you?
About as well as it's working out for the Rest of the Country due to TRUMP PLAGUE, TRUMP RECESSION and TRUMP RIOTS.

Now, maybe in three years, they'll get a chance to vote Litefoot out, and she might even deserve it.

In three months, we'll vote Trump out, and he'll DEFINITELY deserve it.

Actually, that's the kind of thinking we need to disabuse cops of... it's why we have 1000 civilians killed by police every year... because they get away with disproportionate use of force.

Their first job is to protect the public.

Actually, it appears you don't really know jack shit about Chicago.

Who on Earth would want to be Police Chief of Chicago?!
Well, we don't have a "Chief" we have a Superintendent. Lots of guys, apparently, a bunch of guys applied after the last guy had to suddenly resign after they caught him driving under the influence after having dinner with his mistress.

I'd resign. Appoint you, sense you seem to be an authority on everything.
You mean "since"? I am asking an honest and polite question. Why are you so triggered? Please explain.
Yeah, mea culpa, since you seem to be ....judgmental of the Chief of Police you must have the sense to correct the situation and she did not. The idea that a solution exists requires study, not some glib and simple solution to a very complex issue.

Want a simple solution, pass an ordinance to ban all firearms within the city limits. Those who do not surrender their guns will be imprisoned one year for every gun owned, and a $5,000 fine for each gun.

Of course the NRA would oppose this solution.
You want to throw everyone in jail who lives in the shithole for possessing an illegal gun? That would wipe out virtually every negro male in the city.
How are these tree dwellers going to raise 5K? You're dreaming pal.
