They are like american talking heads, making fun of and criticizing the words Obama said about climate change being the biggest threat. I read what Obama said the other day and dismissed it as his usually ignorance and arrogance.

If you dispense with reality and what the world has gone through for billions of years.......
We have an unsustainable population growth since the 18 th C thanks to technology, medicine and migration to urban locations. Weather patterns are changing and we are coming to a point where water will be more scarce we have a glut of certain cropping but transportation cost have made feeding everyone too costly.........etc.

Climate is important but these have changed every few decades. JMHO, population growth and poverty at this moment is more dangerous. Over the century the effects of climate will be more of an issue. It is also harder to fix.

War, hate and the threat of nuclear destruction will cause the most immediate disaster but self preservation is a motivation not to use that option.

It really depends on how far into the future you look at the threat, and what you are willing to do about it. Do you want an emotional fix or a clinical fix and at what cost.

Obama uses sound bites that catch the public but does not really think about what it entails. He really does not have enough of a clue for his position. He is not willing to make the hard choices.

I can think of some reasonable changes, and a few harsh and likely unpopular ones, to make but there is not enough will to do so. Do we want to use a bandaid, bring on and end of time or actually to something so mankind will be around at least till the 22nd C and beyond? Do you want to kiss the booboo or actual cures the disease?

As for 'world savior' .......... not worth consideration.
