'We have 24 hours to save Israel' - former President Rivlin

". . . The Student Protest announced that it was leading two marches along with the "Pink Front" on Jaffa Street and Ben Yehuda. "The time has come for all those sitting on the fence to make a clear decision. [Histadrut Labor Federation chairman Arnon] Bar-David, [Defense Minister Yoav] Gallant, this is a fateful moment for the State of Israel. Do not allow it to become a dictatorship. The public will not forgive you," said the Student Protest.

The protests against the judicial reform in Jerusalem are expected to continue on Monday, with a march from tents set up in Gan Sacher to the Knesset in the early morning and additional protests in front of the Knesset and in Gan Sacher throughout the day."

More idiot Godless lefties protesting.
This is from the BBC, an ostensibly lefty? Globalist source on the judicial reform. .

Israel judicial reform: Why is the country in turmoil?

And I assume? This was sourced from the indie right, it is from a source that Rush Limbaugh commonly used, the news aggregator, Zero Hedge;

Protests against Netanyahu’s judicial reform intensify ahead of vote

Democracy?
Israel has no constitution so its political structures have developed from tradition more than a rigid legal architecture. Part of that is a supreme court that is comprised of jurists who have the power to rule against government actions, laws, and even executive appointments of ministers. IOW, they have a potential veto on ANY decision by a sitting elected government.
The rub? That court's members never face election. They are appointed by other jurists. The people have no power whatever to regulate that court or hold it accountable. It has evolved into a bench almost totally comprised of members of the political Left.

Netanyahu's coalition wants to make that court accountable to the voters and break its deadlock of power over elected governments. So, when you hear the Left in Israel screaming that their "democracy" is being destroyed, just remember that the Left is just as vicious and corrupt there as it is here. The global Left has become EVIL. There is a huge majority in Israel that is cheering FOR the changes because they are sick of their votes being meaningless due to this unelected veto the Left has. They've gone so far as to threaten civil war.

Interesting,.I never knew these details. Canada isn't the only one where democracy becomes unaccountable.

They keep ******* around and they are going to get Yom Kipper-ed again.
The Iranians and the Hizballah and Hamas are openly talking about NOW being their best chance. The Left is ferkin EVIL and with sleepy Joe rubber stamping the Tan Messiah's hate for Bibi, Israel could literally lose territory and thousands of lives due to this shit.

It's too bad that the Commie Dems jettisoned Trump's Abram Accords.

In a nutshell the protestors do not think radical judges should be reigned in....that they should be able to determine how the nation is run even though they were not elected.

Netanyahu and the conservative elements believe that elected officials should be running the nation not some elite judges.

:thankusmile: exactly,even the citizens are tired of their corruption.their governments and courts are as much corrupt as our court system and their government is as much corrupt against their citizens as ours is.
