What the heck is this Cylinder shaped UFO?

My thinking is that eventually, one of these things is going to have Earth in its crosshairs and I doubt we will be ready, willing, or able to stop it.
I am not worried. I figure if we are being visited by beings from another planet somewhere, those beings are eons ahead of us in their knowledge and use of science and technology. They would definitely have ability to easily obliterate us should they choose to do so. The fact that they have not done so reassures me that they intend us no harm.

Meanwhile I doubt we have sufficient science and technology at this point to counter them should they intend us harm.

So why worry?

LOL.

I'm not worried about the Greys.

I'm worried about a rock the size of mt. Everest, slamming into the planet at thousands of miles per hour.

Then again, on second thought. . . I can easily be persuaded to root for the ******* rock.

Not me. I love our people and our world though even though there are those who are not lovable in it. I do hope we are working on technology to deal with that NEO that could destroy us though.

It’s not 3I/Atlas

It’s something else altogether

Could be incomprehensibly large

Any updates appreciated

3I/ATLAS entered our solar system several weeks before the time given for this photo .
The photo looks remarkably like the 2017 Oumuamua object and I suspect the photo/video represent deliberate misiniformation .

3I /Atlas is real alright and its movement is a tumble and spin at the same time .
Most of the details strongly suggest it is a craft though some of Avi Loeb's speculations are unlikely .

If you want a cutting edge analysis listen to Cliff High .
It's a long podcast and Cliff moves at his own pace .

But he is undoubtedly one of the smartest individuals on the planet with an off -the scale IQ and track record .

It looks like a skidmark. Could be a timed photo and the image is a satellite whizzing by.

Two features which add to the mystery is that the light distribution withing the streak of light is wrong:
  1. If it were a point source far away, you would expect the light distribution curve to show diffraction effects from the wave nature of light.
  2. If it were a small object moving slowly through the image as the exposure was taken (such an image might have an exposure of between 10 minutes to maybe a couple of hours, depending), then you would expect to see light intensity variations down along its length.
Instead, the "cylinder" light trail is both clean (no diffraction) and very uniform along its length with only slight variation at its ends and a slight but uniform "mottling" along its length.

If it were aliens, do you think they are frozen in capsules on board? or do you think they make new aliens as the spaceship got here so that older aliens were let out into space after they die, and the children aliens do the same as it is a long journey? Do you imagine them growing like tomatoes and things on board that they keep the food supply going or did they bring enough food with them?

and if I were to make the journey between stars it would be awful cold out there and I would need to use my design, that's right folks! my patented design for generating power in deep cold conditions is just what you need, whether its outerstellar flight, or just warming your feet.

Can't it be something on the lens of the camera?

No. The surface of the lens only gathers light to contribute to the brightness of an image, it does not actually form or focus the image. Any dust on the lens would simply be totally de-focused.

That said, there is no actual lens. The "lens" in this case is actually a giant mirrored telescope feeding the image to a camera at its prime focus. The object had to be sensibly at infinity focus (several hundred feet away or farther) in order to produce the mottling pattern seen in the streak.
