What should the standard be to change the Constitution?

What should it take to change the Constitution?

  • The Supreme Court with a majority vote of 5 or more votes

  • The majority of the country

  • Either the majority of the country or the majority of the SCOTUS

  • Either Constitutionally prescribed processes (2/3, 2/3, 3/4) or Constitutional Convention

  • Nothing, the Federal government is so far beyond it's limits it's no longer legitimate at all

Results are only viewable after voting.
BTW, the correct answer is the last one. It doesn't matter, our government has completely ignored the Constitution. It no longer matters what it says

The processes it calls for, answer #4.

BTW, we should exercise them fairly soon, and put in an amendment that mandates penalties for violating the Constitution.

Presently there are none, which is why liberals (in both parties) get away with having the Fed govt run medical insurance, regulate guns, regulate land use, regulate toilets, regulate workplace conditions, subsidize schools, transfer wealth without getting anything back for it, and all the rest of their unconstitutional activities.

Maybe they don't teach civics in school anymore. The process is called "amending the Constitution" and it is well established. The short version is that the proposed Amendment has to pass both houses of congress by a 2/3 majority and be ratified by 3/4 of the states.

Why change anything? Is there something wrong with it?

You can't possibly believe that the government is following the Constitution now, can you Acorn? What difference does changing it make if they don't follow what we have now?

It is all detailed in the Constitution

Given the state of politics today.....it is impossible to change

So, what is your solution? Just say "fuck it" and move on?

Be specific on what you believe isn't being followed.
