What James Madison wrote in the Federalist papers about the powers of the Federal Government versus State Government no longer exists

Hamilton, Federalist No. 23
During the FDR era, the courts went with his interpretation, not Madison's.
FDR expanded the federal government like CRAZY.

The only thing we have to fear is a GIGANTIC OUT OF CONTROL FED.

State governments do almost everything that affects you in your daily life. Maintains roads, manages the power infrastructure, educates, polices, appoints judges that hear almost everything one of your cases, registers your cars, regulates your building codes. Even federal standards like water standards are enforced by states.

Federal government basically:

  • Protects from foreign enemies and represents the US internationally
  • Maintains infrastructure that crosses states: interstate highways, national parks, postal service, and air traffic control
  • Protects citizens from the state governments by enforcing constitutional laws
  • Collects and distributes money to the states and its citizens for nationally mandated programs like SS, Medicare, unemployment, etc.
That’s about it.
There are Federal Laws that forces state, city and local governments to pay for programs from their taxpayers.

When and why did this change?

It changed with the Civil War, dolt.

I mean, seriously, where did you go to school? Dumb Ass U?

The Suthern States, dimocraps, didn't like the way the Country was headed. We were becoming a decidedly Anti-Slavery Country. And dimocrap scum didn't like that.

They tried to win at the Ballot Box and when that failed, they tried to intimidate the North Militarily.

They failed. Miserably. As in -- They got their asses kicked royally.

Were the Southern States right in their view of our 'Federalism'? Possibly so. But they weren't interested in States Rights other than the Right to continue the Institution of Slavery.

When the North won, States Rights took a serious back seat. Was that wrong? Possibly so but it was a natural reaction to losing 400,000 Men to a scumbag dimocrap FILTH desire to maintain Slavery so dimocrap scum could live in Mansions and have hundreds of slaves tending to their every need..... And picking cotton for them. Among other things.

The same thing can be said of dimocrap scum today. They live in Mansions, grifting off the Working American. They have a powerful hold on what makes them wealthy and allows them to live in those mansions.

And they don't want to lose it. Do you think the wealthy Vineyard Owners in Kaliphony want to lose all that cheap Mexican Labor? How about the wealthy Avacado Farmers?

The situation is different today from what it was a 160-200 years ago, but it's the same set of scumbags causing the trouble -- dimocrap scumbags. AWhether they're in Law Offices in New Yawk or DC, or running a Vineyard, or in Hollywood or Bawstawn

FDR had nothing to do with the expansion of Fed power?

Fascinating.

All good except for the last one. Nowhere in the cotus does it give the federal government that power.

Also #3 only works if the federal government follows the cotus itself.

I'd like to know how the **** can states and cities declare themselves "sanctuaries" for ILLEGAL ALIENS.
That ultimately DEFIES FEDERAL LAW.
Governors and mayors should GO TO PRISON for this blatant criminal BULLSHIT.

It is interesting to me how lefties wanted abortion laws mandated at the federal level, not a state issue, but they tweak when the Charlotte police ask for federal help in NC.

If oil prices go up, is the government to blame?
That’s supply and demand of one commodity, that’s not inflation

Pumping in $7 Trillion in new government spending is inflationary. That’s why the price of EVERYTHING in the supermarket doubled

When oil prices go up, the price of everything goes up! It is the main driver of inflation across the board.
