What is your favorite deer catching cartridge

.243 Winchester is my go to cartridge to catch deer. I use my dads .243 model 70 Winchester. We hunt in Ohio and Pennsylvania in moderate to heavy timber. I myself caught two nice eight point bucks. To date this rifle has harvested over eighty Whitetails. We use Hornady 243 Win 100 gr InterLock® BTSP American Whitetail®. .243 Winchester has relatively low recoil, and it has a flat trajectory. I am not saying this is the best cartidge to hunt deer. This is my go-to cartridge.

Mostly shotgunners buck shot and slugs twelve gauge. I have a new rifle in 30.30 170grain is good for Florida's thick woods.

Well, my number one and number two choices have been taken... 30/30 for the bushes, 30-06 for the prairie, so I'll give you my third choice.
