Any tax increase is bad news for people on fixed incomes.
And most likely the deductible that you're been getting on your taxes might shrink or just go away.
There's also the possibility of a Value Added tax where they charge you extra taxes at the cash register over and above the state taxes you already pay.
And then the big whammy that they plan on instituting is something they do in all socialist countries, a tax on all of your goods and properties at a federal level. Now you don't just get taxed when you sell something, but also a new annual tax on anything of value you own.
They also want to tax us for our energy uses and water uses.
This is why people are leaving CA and other Blue States in droves.
But you're retired so you think you pay no taxes (directly) far as you know.
All of the Baby-Boomers are retiring and not paying into Social Security or Medicare anymore, so they're going to have to make all of that loss of revenue up somewhere else.
