I agree. Any attempt to conflate these two things is a false equivalency.
Convicted criminals housed in prisons and kidnapping victims are both held captive. But there is no similarity past that.

The difference is Israel holds thousands of Palestinians, including many women and children, most of whom have done nothing wrong. They are then systematically raped, starved, and degraded.
