This site said that if I get ten of the questions
right, then my IQ must be around 140.

BTW, Che Guevara is not even in the quiz.

Anyway, I ended up getting something like 47
names right, without even seriously trying.

So what does that make my IQ?
Something like 754?

I don't know. How many questions were there? A thousand?

Knowing some historical facts is not the same as having a high IQ.

It’s like those pop up nuisance sites that claim that only geniuses can correctly identify a “concealed” number hidden in a field of lines or dots.

Visual acuity also isn’t a marker of IQ.

But I applaud the OP for having the stones to ask his loaded question? 😁

Irrelevant. The statement was that 10 right answers gave you an IQ of 140 and got 4.7X as many right. Worse, I don't know that each question is weighted the same. But FWIW, I think there were 60 questions.

Exactly right. I actually know a good bit about intelligence, aptitude, and personality testing and I don't put a lot of weight in them.

That said, an imbecile won't score high and an intelligent person won't do badly. Just that all the testing out there gives undue weight to rather mechanical things like good memory, trivia, or human computation, but too little for the more intangible things like artistic talent, intuition, interpretiveness, and wisdom.

By the former standard, it won't be long before an AI computer is deemed to have an IQ of 400.
