What happens if Biden drops out due to mental failure?

Even the staunchest Liberal Democrat cannot deny the deterioration of poor Joe. He can't talk for more than 20 seconds before he goes off the rails. So If Biden drops out, does Bernie get the nomination or does the DNC get to pick whoever they want?

Just depends on which sacrificial lamb they decide to send to the slaughter in November.

If Biden drops out I'd suggest taking full advantage of the Electoral College process. For purpose of this thread I'll give it the code name "End Around" and it would work as follows.

Step 1: First the Democrats in each state would place on the November ballot a favorite son or daughter. Here in Arizona they'd best be served by getting Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald Jr. to fill the role. Everybody loves Larry. In your state it might be... well you can come up with your own suggestions. Remember in November all they're doing here is trying to get a slate of Democrats to be the state's electors. The candidate is just the vehicle to achieve this end and after election day will serve no purpose.

Step 2: Have vast majority of campaign money going towards attack ads against Trump. Provide a token amount for the the state's Democratic nominee. Don't take for granted the Hispanic vote. In Arizona one of these ads would look like this:

Step 3: This step is contingent on the Democrats getting at least 270 electoral votes. If that goal is achieved a party convention would be held sometime between election day and Thanksgiving to determine the president-elect. In all likelihood this person would be none of the 50 individuals they ran earlier in the month.

Step 4: In December the Electoral College officially votes Hillary Clinton (or whoever) as the next president.

If the Democrats had half a brain they adopt my plan right now regardless of Biden's condition.
