Apparently, the term "Progressive" is no longer in vogue among the leftists and they are now calling themselves "Liberal." This is just another example of their language manipulation to mask their identity from the public. I have known many true Liberals, and none of them were Progressives.

Who? They are a dying breed, pretty close to being extinct.

What is your understanding of the difference between liberals and progressives , and what is it that you think progressive want to hide from the public?

True liberals support the First Amendment and oppose any attempt to curtail the free expression of ideas. Progressives want to censor free speech and use the tools of government to attack anyone who disagrees with them. Obviously, they want to hide their intentions from the public, who wouldn't otherwise vote for them.

I encourage you to learn about what is being taught in our Universities with regard to Critical Marxism, Neo-Marxism, and intersectionalism and then learn the values of the Critical Race Theory -- a subset of Critical Marxism -- and how it has infiltrated our institutions, including the advocacy media, sometimes called the mainstream media.

Places to learn these things are in books and a few websites that detail the entire program.

The history of progressivism in this country- the idea that government exists for the purpose of making life better for people -as opposed to an end in itself dates to Teddy Roosevelt. Was Roosevelt, or Franklin a Marxist? You people continually deride Democrats as being Marxist -simply because they want to reign in the excesses of capitalism – which is as stupid as stupid gets. Regulations and social safety nets have saved capitalism from itself. There is no relationship with or equivalency between what we advocate as progressive and Marxism. Our Progressive philosophy does not advocate the confiscation of private property, the take over of the means of production buy the state , or a dictatorship of the proletariat .
