Setting aside unwise kids and family traditions, what drives someone to swing democrat?

I ask because if you really listen to what their leaders and sources say, its all tall tales free of objectivity. It can't be traditional democrat speak, because trump objectively represents much of that, and as a result, the democrats have left that reasoning behind.

Is it their squeaky wheels, which are primarily unhappy women who lead by emotions at the cost of rational thought? How about those with mental issues, who represent much of what the left have become?

Is it the democrats marketing racism that makes the party attractive?

Is it the their policies creating an environment for "inmates to run the prison"?

Perhaps their high taxes while their cities are riddled with chaos, crime and welfare?

Perhaps they're simply drawn to contrary thought and behavior?

Different people have different experiences, priorities, perceptions and opinions.

Maybe you should get to know a few people who don't think exactly like you do. Have a cheeseburger with them now then.

And then listen.
We don't break bread with the enemies of the U.S., and especially not with traitors of the first order.

I think democrats and repubs want basically the same thing, but it's the methodology of how to get there that's the issue.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to help the poor, help the world, and let people live whatever lives they want to. The problem is how the left wants to go about this. Basically, the right wants to teach a man to fish, the left wants to give a man a fish.

I do, and anytime it comes up they repeat lies. When called on it they freak out like pampered, spoiled children.

Mostly stupidity, gullibility, and peer pressure.

What drives someone to be a democrat[sic]?

What drives someone to be a Republican? Your complete OP is a lesson in idiocy. Why? Try and see what it is Republicans say and then actually do. Trump rode his pony into the GOP during 2015/2016 playing that tune.

I spent 42 years as a damned democrat because my whole family were all Democrats. Man once they hook you, you must study and study more to shake them off. Good news is I have now spent 45 years as a Republican.

I'm of the belief that magaturds rarely leave their trailer communities and touch grass.

For me, it was a complete accident. I went to a high school full of the kids of rich liberals. If the home we lived in had been two blocks west, I'd have been in a much better district and had more sense.

We had zero politics at home, so any political influence came from outside.

Relationships is the force that binds and directs liberals.
Work is the force that binds and directs conservatives.

It's just another iteration of the battle of the sexes.

Today, it's someone who hates America and everything it has always stood for. They want revolution, and are more in line today with, the likes of Lenin, Castro, Guevara, than they are with great Americans of the past. Going forward, the party will be made up of Americans and immigrants of color, and self-loathing whites.
