No one knows the future.
We are moving into unknown territory. Many smart people are predicting a terrible immediate economic future. Others look at a growing China, and an America that is being destroyed from within.
So what should we do?
First of all, prepare ... prepare to be able to survive whatever is coming -- whether it be a huge economic collapse, an American military defeat in the Far East, or even a big war among the great powers. You can't do much to save your country if you are worried about the survival of your family.
This means: prepare. Aim to be able to 'sit out' a major social/economic disruption that lasts for several months. Could you remain at home, inside your house, for three months ... if the water, gas, electricty stopped working, and if the shops where your normally buy your groceries and other necessities and semi-necessities, were bare?
In particular, exercise your 2nd Amendment rights. Old Bismarck noted that all the big issues of mankind were resolved, not by parliamentary majorities, but by 'blood and iron'.
Best is an AR15 with a dozen magazines and a couple of thousand rounds of ammo. But don't let the best be the enemy of the good. Something is better than nothing. So even a single-shot bolt-action .22 is better --- far, far better -- than nothing.
Similarly, you don't have to be prepared for 'TEOFTWAWKI' -- 'the end of the world as we know it' -- a 'Mad Max' situation. Just be able to sit out a sustained disruption of the legal/economic/social order. (An Anti-Fa/BLM riot on a large scale.)
Having done that -- which will cost you a few hundred dollars, not counting the cost of an AR15 or its equivalent -- you need to organize with like-minded patriots. The people at https://USCPT.org seemt to have the right idea. Get a Baofeng, learn to use it, practice mobilizing ... in other words, form a group.
A few dozen people, organized, with a command structure, with some practice working together; ideally with some equipment that a group of a few dozen can purchase -- is a thousand times stronger than the same number of isolated individuals.
Of course, your whole purpose should be to help the authorities in a disaster: legal, peaceful, orderly. That member of your group who suggests getting a machine gun or some dynamite or doing anything else illegal -- is an FBI agent and should be shown the door.
