what comics did you read in your childhood?

I still have all of my comics from childhood though I haven't looked at them in ages. I bought a few odd ones. I have a couple that are worth a little money.
  • I have a Balloon Man comic.
  • I have a Gorgo comic.
  • I have a Dial H For Hero comic.
  • I was a big fan of the Silver Surfer.
  • I have the very first Star Trek comic.
  • I was a big fan of Captain Klutz.
My uncle gave me his comics from the 40s and 50s, and there are several Amazing Stories in there, Fantastic Stories, and stuff like that.

early silver age DC comics.....Golden Key Comics and i had every new Marvel title when they started,,,,

The Incredible Hulk... and Batman... Green lantern... as I got older I went for Mad Magazine...

Well, Mad Magazine was the natural, logical progression from kid's comics! Kind of like promoting yourself from Captain Crunch breakfast cereal to cocaine. I probably have about 20-30 Mad Magazines packed away then maybe another 10 or so in those soft paperbacks they made, too, plus a generous helping of Peanuts and Charlie Brown.

and Superman, of course

I was more of a Batman kind of guy. Superman was too much like Captain America, all clean, shiny, never got his hair mussed....

I preferred the darker, grittier side of Batman, down in his cave designing gadgets to catch crooks with, always just skirting on the edge of the law.

Superman had no real possibility of ever losing in any ordinary circumstance, Batman always faced the possibility of losing.

Oh, yeah, I forgot. I read some MAD too.

I actually read more books than I did comics. I was the nerd who worked in the school library from 5th to 9th grade.
