I am specifically not talking about politics here. This isn't a discussion on liberalism, conservatism, progressivism, or any sort of isms.

The solutions to this nations problems will not be found in politics but in the people doing things.

So what are the things we need to do to fix our nation?

Stop being enablers.

And how do we accomplish that?

By starting with yourself.

Fixing the nation must happen on a large scale...and the small scale. The small scale is us, you and i... we the people.

For a small example....How about we stop enabling bad behavior in our children.

If you are sincere in your question, my answer would be to vote tea party candidates in. If you are not and love relying on the nanny state, I would say you are fucked.

I agree with Gad.....the US will eventually split asunder because the political divide is too great. It will be interesting to see which society ends up being the better one...
lets see would a bunch of whining gender confused socialist or a society of hard working people that rely on themselves instead of a nanny state be better ??

There are two problems with that: First, there's no way of knowing what kind of society (or societies) would emerge from the ashes. Second, there is the matter of the cost of getting there. Civil war, especially one that is likely to degenerate into partisan warfare, is a terrible thing. It would be far better to split peacefully, but the problem is there's not just one divide in America; there are a number of them. Political ideology is only one of these; there are others, economic, cultural, religious, ethnic/racial, even regional, that are just as deep, just as bitter, and just as difficult to reconcile.I'm afraid that in this situation partisan strife, with loose and shifting alliances between various factions, is the most likely outcome. We can guess at a likely end result of THAT, but with so many possible scenarios, I don't believe we can predict it with any certainty.
